                       Kamarajar was born in 15th July 1903. He was also called as Karma veerar, Kingmaker, Leader of poor, Black Gandhi. He has made great efforts to achieve illiteracy and introduced free education and also a compulsory education till 11th standard.

                Kamarajar has introduced free meals in the afternoon to the school students first in Chennai to increase the number of students coming to school. later, it has extended to all the districts.

Tamilnadu Uniform System Of School Education

  Samacheer Education

                        The Samacheer kalvi was introduced in the year 2010 by then ruling government of DMK in Tamilnadu. The Samacheer kalvi is called in English as Tamilnadu uniform system of school education or Equitable education system.  The system was owned by the Tamilnadu Government through the Department of school education. The System was first established as a trial for the students of I to VI in the year 2010. Later the system has come into effect for the students of higher education in July 2011.

                     The CBSE is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools. The first CBSE education was set up in India at UP board of the high school in 1921. There are about 18,006 schools in India affiliated to CBSE. It includes 2635 Government schools, 1113 Kendriya Vidyalaya, 587 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, 13657 independent schools and 14 Tibetan Schools. The schools which are affiliated to the CBSE board have the same syllabus and same question papers for examinations all over India.

Ancient education system in India

                    During the ancient period, the schools were called Gurukul. The teacher in this Gurukul was called as Guru. The Indian education system of ancient period has unique qualities and characteristics which was not found on ancient education system of any other country. Gurukul has its residential in nature and students living with proximity to the Guru.

                               The gurukul system is an ancient learning method. The students will gather there and learn Vedas from their Guru. Vedas are the education for the students in the ancient period in India. The students were treated equally irrespective to their social standards.
